Welcome to The Havelock Hotel website. The Havelock is a pub hotel located by the seaside in the popular tourist town of Nairn. Owned by Nairn locals, Gordon and Morag Holding, since August 2015, it has a welcoming, informal atmosphere and a lively bar.

The Havelock has views over the Moray Firth and takes full advantage of its position with a large outside decking area, perfect for enjoying a drink on a summer evening.

The Havelock has an extraordinary history. It was once the summer house of the Emir of India. The house is named after Major General Sir Henry Havelock (1795-1857) a much admired English general and the only one to command a Scottish brigade. His statue is in Trafalgar Square, London.

SCOTTISH PUB WITH ROOMS
The Havelock is a typical Scottish "pub with rooms" with five comfortable well-equipped en suite bedrooms.  All bedrooms were fully refurbished in January 2016.  Decor has a light and airy sea-side feel. Rooms are sold on a "room only" basis. However, there is the option to purchase breakfast served at our sister hotel (Braeval Hotel) two doors along from the Havelock. Alternatively, a "Grab 'n' Go" take-away breakfast is available to purchase. Rooms are affected by noise from the Bar, particularly at weekends, so if you prefer a quiet environment, the Havelock may not suit you.

SPORTS BAR
The Public Bar is popular with locals who drop by for a game of pool and televised sports. There’s a good range of lagers, beers and bottled ale along with a gins, cocktails and alco-pops.  Well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar and beer garden, but not allowed in the guest bedrooms or restaurant.

ENTERTAINMENT
The Havelock is a lively pub with regular entertainment. On Sunday, there is often live acoustic music in the Bar, a BBQ in the Beer Garden (weather permitting) and on Sunday evenings, a popular KARAOKE NIGHT.  It's a lot of fun and locals love to have visitors join in. (This can be noisy, so if you are thinking about staying, be aware that rooms can be affected by noise from the Bar)
