Welcome to The Havelock website. The Havelock is a family run pub hotel by the seaside in Nairn. It has a welcoming, informal atmosphere and a lively bar. The Havelock has views over the Moray Firth and takes full advantage of its position with a large beer garden, perfect for enjoying a drink on a summer evening.
The building has a fascinating history. It was once the summer house of the Emir of India. The house is named after Major General Sir Henry Havelock (1795-1857) a much admired English general, the only one to command a Scottish brigade. His statue is in Trafalgar Square, London.
The Havelock is a typical Scottish "pub with rooms" with five comfortable well-equipped en suite bedrooms. Decor has a light and airy sea-side feel. Some rooms can affected by noise from the Bar, particularly at weekends, so if you prefer a quiet environment, contact us in advance so we can allocate one of our quieter rooms. Pets are not allowed in the bedrooms.
Our popular newly renovated Bar stocks a great range of premium lagers, beers and real ale, gins and cocktails and Scottish single malt whisky. We also have an excellent choice of alcohol free Gin, Wine, Seedlip and Beers.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar (but only assistance dogs are allowed in the restaurant).
On Thursday we hold a PUB QUIZ and on Sundays a popular KARAOKE NIGHT (be aware that some bedrooms can be affected by noise from the bar). Throughout the summer, we often have live music showcasing local talent. See EVENTS for details.
